“A Rebuke to Words”

Original text by Carol Koffinke. This is a light-hearted art song that expresses the frustration when faced with the inadequacy of words to fully express our deepest emotions. We may try to express deep love and appreciation by writing our feelings in a note or card, but quickly realize those feelings cannot be captured by mere words. The singer chastises words for their inability to say what he so deeply feels.
