“The Alchemist”

Original text by Carol Koffinke. This is an art song about meeting the love of your life and realizing that every moment of your life was designed to bring you together. The song uses the analogy of a mosaic to illustrate that epiphany where the mosaic’s tiny pieces of glass suddenly explode with pure joy upon that first kiss and are transformed into a brilliant, sparkling jewels as they realize they have fulfilled their destiny…to bring the two together.
